{"id":3101,"date":"2018-04-02T14:32:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T14:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/?p=3101"},"modified":"2018-03-09T14:36:02","modified_gmt":"2018-03-09T14:36:02","slug":"shrink-shrank-shrunk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/2018\/04\/shrink-shrank-shrunk\/","title":{"rendered":"Shrink, Shrank, Shrunk"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>ShRink Art for Your Family&nbsp; Reunion<\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019ve been a Shrinky Dink&nbsp; fan&nbsp; for probably 30 years or better, way before they had the fancy kits they have now.&nbsp; When&nbsp; I&nbsp; first started making Shrinky DInks we called them&nbsp; Shrink&nbsp; Art and we used either plain sheets of plastic or clean or&nbsp; clear #6 plastic we got from the bakery.<\/p>\n<p>In case you don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking&nbsp; about, <b>Shrink Art<\/b> is made with thin plastic sheets that <b>shrink <\/b>down about 45% when you put them in the oven. Not only does the material <b>shrink<\/b>, but whatever artwork you draw\/print on them will also <b>shrink<\/b> with it. So, you can draw and color a design in&nbsp; it\u2019s&nbsp; large form&nbsp; where it is easy to see and work&nbsp; with&nbsp; and then shrink it down so&nbsp; it is more the size of a charm or an ornament. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Camp-oz-182.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Camp oz 182\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Camp oz 182\" src=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Camp-oz-182_thumb.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"200\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love to use shrink art for family reunions and parties.&nbsp; They make great dog tags, charms, pins and beads. Our Oz inspired family reunion includes a template to be used with Shrink Art.&nbsp; We had so much&nbsp; fun making the dog tags and our family&nbsp; loved wearing them&nbsp; during the reunion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image_thumb-1.png\" width=\"234\" height=\"351\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To make Shrink Art,preheat your oven&nbsp; to 325 degrees Fahrenheit<\/p>\n<p>Trace your design on the plastic using a&nbsp;&nbsp; permanent marker such as a Sharpie marker.&nbsp;&nbsp; You can draw your own design or trace a&nbsp; clip art picture you&nbsp; found&nbsp; on the internet or use a coloring&nbsp; page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image_thumb-2.png\" width=\"201\" height=\"244\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Color your picture with permanent markers or colored pencils. If your plastic has a rough side,&nbsp; color on&nbsp; that side.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/familyreunionhelper.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/image_thumb-3.png\" width=\"309\" height=\"233\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cut out your picture and if you will be putting it on a string or chain punch a hole in it.&nbsp; You will not&nbsp; be able&nbsp; to make any holes&nbsp; or cuts once your&nbsp; picture has baked as it will be too thick.<\/p>\n<p>Line a cookie sheet or tray with foil or baking paper.
